New Year's Eve 2024!

A Wonderful Start to 2024: A Look Back at Our Festive Event! 💚✨

Alongside wishing you a marvelous 2024, we’re excited to share some photos from the event we organized from December 29 to January 2.

Truly memorable festivities in the Cantal!

Here’s a glimpse of the program for this special occasion:

Day 1: The holidays began with a short hike to a buron (a traditional mountain hut), followed by a cozy candlelit snack of Auvergne charcuterie, cheese, and fine wine. 🕯🧀🥖🍷

Day 2: The next day featured a hike starting from the Col de Serre, leading to the Limon Plateau—a 17 km trek through vast, untouched landscapes of peat bogs and mountain streams, offering breathtaking 360° views. 🥾🏔

We spotted roe deer along the paths, crossing fences and water points. 🦌

A surprise detour rewarded us with the warmth of a crackling fireplace and delicious waffles upon our return! 🧇🪵🔥

In the evening, we visited a family farm in Carlucet to meet the majestic Salers cattle, the pride of the region. 🐂

Special thanks to Arnaud and Rémy Beyle for sharing their time and knowledge with us, and to Lisette for hosting us with a local aperitif, flavored with the wild gentian essence of Avez. 🌾

Day 3: The day began with an encounter with Oslo, an exceptional Salers bull and pride of the Beyle family! Jean-François’ beaming face said it all. 📸

Sandrine hosted us with an aperitif, followed by a taste of Mangin’s famous pastis, kindly shared by Jacky and Béa. 🥃

As New Year’s Eve approached, we made a quick stop at Riom-es-Montagnes, visiting the iconic bar Chez Paulette. There, a friendly hunter gifted us mushrooms while enjoying a drink! 🍻

Preparations for the evening were in full swing: Éric and Serge fired up the brazier for the côte de bœuf brought by Patou! 🥩🔥 Nathalie and Corinne peeled potatoes for the truffade, while Jacky worked on the mushrooms, Sylvia prepared blue cheese sauce, and Chantal, Béa, and Fred made toasts. 🍴

The night was alive with games—table football, darts, billiards, and a competitive round of Pictionary, along with a lively salsa session led by Jacky! 🎱⚽️🎯🎲🕺💃

A light snowfall graced us just in time to ring in the New Year! ❄️🎉🥳🍾

Day 4: The celebrations continued with another aperitif (yes, another one!) with family, followed by a trip to the Font Sainte. There, a beautiful chapel stands beside a sacred spring. ⛪️🏔

After a snowy stroll, we visited the Mercier farm to discover how St. Nectaire cheese is made. 🧀

Two mischievous participants—Éric and Serge—kept things lively as usual! 😇😂 We sampled whey and fresh tomme cheese before placing our orders for the famous St. Nectaire.

A big thank you to Christian for his warm hospitality and knowledge-sharing!

And just like that, the holidays came to an end!

Thank you all for your cheerful spirits, delightful encounters, and heartwarming reunions! 🤩

Special thanks to Jean-François, Chantal, Sandrine, Bernard, Arnaud, Rémy, Christian, and Chouka for humbly and sincerely sharing your passions with us! 👏

A huge thanks to Béa, Jacky, Serge, Nathalie, Chantal, Fred, Sylvia, and Patou—you perfectly embody the spirit that Mainatja-Te holds dear! ✨

See you soon! 💚
